Each year is an exciting journey for us with new students, new challenges and new promise for the future. We are so happy you are with us on this wonderful ride. At R. B. Hunt we work together as a team to constantly improve our school, our community and ourselves. We look at challenges as \u201copportunities\u201d to learn and grow!<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">As your principal at R. B. Hunt, my job is to:<\/p><ul><li>Place the needs of children first in all decisions we make.<\/li><li>Focus on increasing student achievement in reading, writing, social studies, science, and math<\/li><li>Balance children\u2019s social\/emotional needs and intervene when needed with support<\/li><li>Model and promote the Six Pillars of Character and \u201cS.H.I.N.E.\u201d principles<\/li><li>Provide a safe and welcoming school environment<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\">My goal is to provide our students with the most productive and rewarding year of their young lives. Your emphasis on the importance of school, and regular school attendance with your support and cooperation, will help us to achieve this goal. If our school community works as a team, we can accomplish anything. We are all in this together.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">I encourage you to get involved in our school. Our School Advisory Team meets monthly, the first Tuesday of the month at 3:15. All interested community members are welcome to attend. Our Parent Teacher Advisory Organizations meets Wednesday mornings<br \/>throughout the year at 8:45 am with an evening meeting in September.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Please feel free to contact your child\u2019s teacher, Rebecca Whaley, our assistant principal, or myself, if you have an issue or concern that can help us better serve our students.
