I will be updating this page soon with information on how I will continue to provide School Counseling services to your families. I plan to have small group and individual sessions via phone and Schoology. I will provide resources as well as lessons and story time for our students. This is an overwhelming time for all of us! The mission of the R.B. Hunt Counseling program is to ensure a safe environment in which the guidance program supports all students in reaching their full academic, career, and social/emotional potential. The program strives to promote student’s achievement by assisting students in acquiring skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners.
Who is the School Counselor and what does she do?
My name is Patricia McElhone and I am the School Counselor at R.B. Hunt. As a School Counselor I wear many hats.
Some of my duties include:
- Classroom guidance lessons
- Small group counseling
- Individual counseling
- Crisis intervention with students
- RTI team member
- Consult/Collaborate with community agencies
- Testing coordinator
- ESOL program coordinator
- 504 coordinator
- Attendance contact
- Homeless liaison
- Safer Smarter Kids Instructor
